The interview process was grueling, and it went on for a little too long. Although I think the company would have been a place with cool people to work with, I thought the interview process was complicated and duplicative. I will enumerate the steps/interviews. I was referred to a company by someone who worked there. Then, I had an HR screening interview (1). I was then told they wanted mean to speak to one of the marketing directors -- that was over the phone (2). After that, I moved to a two-person interview with the marketing director I'd already spoken with and another marketing director) because they thought I was a great so far (3). I was then asked to send more writing samples (4). (I had already attached clips in hyperlinks to the resume, but I'm not sure if they didn't think I could really write well or not.) After that, I was contacted that I would be moving on to the next round. This was an interview/presentation with the same two marketing directors from before, plus the creative director and marketing coordinator (5). For this I had to do prep work: a personality assessment (6), a writing project -- a suitable blog on a topic I thought the company should move into (7), I had to create a content calendar (8) and a PowerPoint presentation of recommendations for other content uses for the blog and the topic (9). Then on the day of the interview/presentation, it was an hour or so long, and after, I had another interview to do (10). That interview was with three members of the Atlanta team. I believe this is what they call a cultural interview. I was told that I may have a couple more interviews after that, including maybe one with the two leaders of the company and one of the marketing directors AGAIN! Now, by this time I was already exhausted from their process. I was told it would be likely a week or before hearing from them... it took FOREVER. In the meantime, the company acquired another company, which prolonged them getting back to me. And, in the end they did not offer me a position. After ALL THAT! I was told everyone loved me, but they went with someone who was a better fit. Color me confused. Everyone and I do me everyone that spoke with me said I was great, prepared, etc. Sometimes I wonder if companies don't really know what they want in a new hire until they start interviewing people. Oh well. I would not interview at this company again.

1. Recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn. I wasn't really looking but the opportunity was too good to pass up! 2. Phone Interview - Where you've been, where ya going, experience, etc. The norm, nothing hard. 3. Interview with director - you can do this via Zoom or in person. I went into the office. Talked about where you've been, why you're here now, what you want from your career, etc. My interview went really well and we ended up going over the allotted time. 4. If step three goes well, you get assigned a project & do a final interview. There are two parts to the final interview: review your project & do a cultural interview. I was more nervous than I should have been. Everyone was great! If you watch the Today Show interview with Elite, you know what to expect. Overall I would say the interview process was a little more difficult than most but that is because Elite tries to bring the best in.
