I interviewed at Toll Logistics, Singapore and applied through a recruiter. For a company that "sells" diversity on their website. I was pleasantly surprised when one of the first few questions asked was "When are you going to settle down". They said they wanted somebody to commit to a two to three years period which I mentioned that it would not be an issue regardless if I was settling down or not. As expected, I did not hear from them. Out of curiosity, I asked the recruiter the reason that I was rejected. Was it because of my experience? He told me that I was rejected for two reasons, one was because I told them I was settling down in the next 2-3 years, two was because they think that it was inappropriate for a female to travel to India. Overall, I felt that the interviewer was not professional and asking a gender discrimination question early in the interview was definitely not a good way to start off. On a side note, I believe many females do travel to India for work.
