Yes...you do need a health/life license to get started - that's a requirement by the state. Yes...we typically conduct a group orientation prior to 1:1 interviews - it provides you with enough insight to make a decision whether you want to compete for a position via the 1:1 interview process. Rather than a waste of time...perhaps this is a time saver for you and for the company. Why would the interviewer ask you to rate yourself on a scale of 1-10? Perhaps he or she is seeking insight into how well the candidate knows themselves...and how honest they are in assessing their own abilities.
