The initial interview was conducted over the phone by a contract consultant from the Gallup Company with no knowledge of the field. The individual who contacted me initially reached out via email and lacked professionalism, email etiquette, and tact. She was late calling me for the interview and when I answered she launched into a 10 minutes stream of consciousness without so much as a "Hello, may I speak to..." She then spent 20 minutes telling me everything I had read about the company already. Then she spent about 90 seconds explaining the position. She asked me a series of Likert scale survey questions about my experience. There is no actual application process, job seekers simply submit a vita and cover letter, so there is no way for the company to really know who you are or if you would be a good fit for the team. She explained that there were multiple openings for this position and it had been open for nearly a year (red flag) . Overall, I found the experience unprofessional and negative. Generally, I would say that this approach is not a good way to attract the top level doctoral talent this company claims they want. I was told during the interview to expect an assessment in my email the next day. The following day, I recieved a tactless one sentence email without a salutation or closing line stating that they "took a pass". Overall, I feel very much like I dodged a bullet. I have read a number of reviews about this company that made me doubtful of their culture and work environment. Given the quality and professionalism of the first interview, I think that thos reviews are accurate.
