      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at UWorld (Dallas, TX) in Jan 2021

      Interview

An odyssey. Extraordinarily complicated surreal initiation-like, a demoralizing mind-warping and shape-shifting and time consuming nightmare. The exercises to weed you out or cult-you-in are ridiculous. Poorly designed and weirdly explained, and impenetrable. Reminiscent of a cult's process and mysterious rites like you'd see in a film. The process and the communications that surround it and deliver it should be warning enough of the cult[ure] that lurks behind. Stay clear. Please take my word for it. I even suspected that it was (in addition to all this) some type of scam for which I was providing intellectual property and content for. Honestly the whole experience made me want to go and take a shower. Honestly I was deflated and felt that my mind and spirit - all-important for an individual in the job hunting process - had been defiled. Once I had started the weird test there's that common feeling that you should go on and finish it, give it your best shot, don't leave unfinished what you'd started, don't let them (the point person) and yourself down, all that. But it was awful from start to finish, their feedback was minimalist-to-nothing, non exist, a sort of 'just go try again.' Oh, stay clear, stay clear, stay clear. Red alert.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

To come up with psychology test material questions in the bizarre and mysterious parallel universe they seem to come up with them and measure their aptitude levels and quality standards. The steps themselves were poorly written-out and defined and explained, the product of some toxic internal politics ridden consensus perhaps, and the concepts - in the instructions, the materials, and even the 'model' example questions you were supposed to emulate, aspire to - were hopelessly and manifestly anachronistic. And ironically pompus of the type of pompous that's ignorant of what it's ignorant of, and yet acts superior for it.
