One of the worst experience I ever had.
There were 2 or 3 introductory telephonic rounds scheduled. Every time, I was made to wait but no one appeared on the call. They didn't even have the courtesy to let me know if they can't join the call. I had to adjust my office timings accordingly.
Now, I was told that there is no need for any introductory call. I will have my F2F directly. I didn't know much about the company. All I had was the knowledge I gained online.
I reached there and had my first round. The interviewer didn't seem to be much open. Without any introduction, he started asking questions. After the round I had my lunch there and was asked to wait.
After 1.5 hours, I had my second interview. This was the same guy who was supposed to have the introductory call with me. I then asked him to explain me about the work at least now, along with my basic understanding. He explained me in a beautiful way. I give him that. He also accepted the things that he explained was not possible for me to comprehend from the internet. Then, he gave me a question and left the room. After 5 minutes, he came back and asked me to talk to the HR.
"what happened?"
"please make sure if you want to join the company!"
"i do, that's why i stayed when you explained me about the work."
"we really need to see that passion in you. you should have browsed the internet and know about the work before coming here."
"i already told you that i did. you only accepted 5 minutes ago that it was impossible to understand from the stuff on the internet. what was i supposed to do - not come here or come here and get clarified. i was interested that's why i came. now, still if you want me to leave, i will."
"yes, please leave."
First, he didn't attend the many calls he was supposed to. Now, they call me at their site and make me leave because I don't know stuff he would have told me.
Anyways, I then talked to the HR. She was quite dubious who was just forcing that she was good. "Unlike other HRs, I am doing this or that." But not focusing on the topic.
me: "what is he (the interviewer) talking about?"
And the following statement were getting repeated over and over again. I felt like talking to some random character in a video game.
----
"your profile do not match with our role." - "then why did you call me. you already knew my profile."
"you might not have performed well in the second interview" - "i was moved out during the interview, without explaining even a single answer."
"perhaps the second interviewer had some discussion with the first one and decided something." - "then, why did you start my second interview? and if started, why ended it abruptly like this?"
"why didn't you ask about the work in the first interview" - "that's not the point. but still, i'd say that i didn't feel comfortable with him. may be if i'd have asked, you had me kicked out in the first interview itself. do you encourage me to not ask anything"
----
I asked her multiple times to tell me frankly what's the issue. Not getting selected is fine but I must know if it's because of my poor interview. She said "i will get all things clarified and write to you soon". But as expected, nothing happened.
There were no explanations. I was not shortlisted and I don't know if that is because of my poor performance in the interviews. But these people have no honor - do not deserve positions like these.
