Hands-down the WORST interview process I have ever participated in. I had high expectations for this company based on their reputation, and they absolutely botched it. I was left in the dark for the entire process and had little to no idea what was going on throughout the interview. To put things in perspective, here's what happened:
- Heard from a recruiter mid September and setup my first call; things went well, but then total radio silence
- Over the next 2 weeks, I followed up twice before hearing back
- Setup my second call, which seemed to go well, although I received an automated rejection email the next day. No big deal, I thought I was done at this point
- Over 2 weeks later, the recruiter reached out to me to schedule the next interview, stating that the feedback was positive and I was moving forward (?) I provided my availability and asked for some context on the rejection email; I never heard from this recruiter again
- Over a month later, a completely different recruiter reached out to me (?!?) to schedule the final round, with no apology or context from their side whatsoever
- I scheduled the call, the recruiter informed me she would send the prompt for the presentation, I had to follow up twice before she finally sent it over. In the process, I also had to push the interview out since I didn't get the prompt in a timely matter. She also tried to deflect as if it wasn't her responsibility, but as a candidate who scheduled my interview with her, how the heck would I know that? All I need is the prompt, I don't care who sends it
- I receive the prompt with a case study and deck and being working on my presentation. After spending several hours on the prompt they provided, I noticed that the deck is labeled "pre-sales" (doesn't sound like the role I'm interviewing for) so I reached out for context and they go "Oh no! It seems a wire got crossed, that is the wrong prompt!"
At this point in time, I have been participating in this interview process for nearly 3 whole months, they have repeatedly dropped the ball and absolutely dashed any opportunity of hiring me on. I told them that I was done with the interview process and would not be participating in the final round because it had been handled with an utter lack of professionalism and a disregard for my time.
I provided some feedback to their recruiting team and a higher-up in the department I was interviewing for, expecting them to be understanding and apologetic. Both their department director and recruiting director provided an apology, then stated "I don't want to make any excuses, but..." and provided a slew of excuses about their rapid growth and growing pains. I've worked for and interviewed at hyper-growth companies, and this has never been an issue. It was an absolute slap to the face that I was treated like this and then they thought that would be a sufficient excuse. Its no different than saying "no offense, but..." and then saying something extremely offensive and abrasive.
If you value your time and sanity, don't bother interviewing here. I put up with way more than I should have, don't make the same mistake as me.
