      Flight Attendant Interview

      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

I interviewed at United Airlines in Aug 2018

      Interview

I was invited to the face to face end of July & scheduled the interview for mid August. There were several scenario questions, but more from your own examples through your personal job experience. So have several (of your own) stories to tell about a situation, what action you took, and the result. I got there and handed in my resume. Sat down in a room of maybe 40 people. There was a presentation that two senior flight attendants gave. They spoke about reserve and training. They told us they were trying to get us out of Houston as soon as possible and they would be cutting the interviews short. From that point, I felt they didn't really want to get to know their candidates. No other recruiter introduced themselves, which I found odd. I was put in a secluded waiting room with 10-15 other candidates, waiting for our 1 on 1's. The lady who interviewed me seemed as if she had no training or experience as an interviewer. I tried making conversation with her and it as very difficult to show personality. Nothing like it is on the line. The entire process was VERY dry and honestly did not motivate me to want to work for this company. There was no way for me to speak to other recruiters as they were all busy with 1 on 1s and the rest of us were stuck in a waiting room 90 percent of the time. It is a very poor way of handling a "group interview". I have experience interviewing at a major airline where the dynamic was very open and inviting. This was not the case for United. Oh and also, my flight to Houston was oversold and the AO told me I was not a must ride ...even though I has a seat assigned. Unbelievable United still oversells flights after their bad press with dragging a passenger off a plane.
