I interviewed at United Global Technologies (Providence, RI)
Interview
I applied online through Monster on a Sunday. I was called the next morning by someone at the very top (according to LinkedIn profile) for a position in RI (UGT is in NC). She said the RI company needs someone to start asap. Then she asked if I would be ok w/the salary of $17-$19 and the fact that it's part-time. I said I was fine w/everything she was saying. Then she tells me they had another applicant all set to start the job, but when she found out it was part-time, she didn't take it. I found that statement to be odd. You mean to say at no time there was any mention/discussion of the hours? I was then told she would submit my resume to the person I would be interviewing with and she'd get back to me w/available times for interviewing. I went back to review the job posting because I felt something was off in what this woman was saying. The posting stated the job paid $14-$16. So I emailed her to point this out, asking why she told me a different salary. She said she felt I was more than qualified and wanted me to get the most so she submitted me for $17. I thought the whole thing was strange and felt she was doing what most employment agencies do, they sweet talk you so you'll agree to let them put you in their database in order to collect their commissions. I never heard from her again.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at United Global Technologies (Charlotte, NC) in Aug 2018
