I was a passive candidate that was outreached via LinkedIn by a recruiter to set up a phone screen. I'm not actively looking for a new role but am always open to connecting with recruiters to learn about opportunities and learn if they have one that I can't pass up. I've done countless phone screens throughout my career and this was by far the most uncomfortable one I've ever had. From the get-go, it felt as if the recruiter wanted nothing to do with the conversation and was just trying to log another call. It started with her explaining the company/product and to say she was not passionate about it at all would be an understatement. From there she asked one question of me, I answered thoroughly, and she had no follow up questions or comments. After that, I had numerous questions for her about the company, sales team, etc., and felt as if I was an annoyance with my questions. I was told it was a quick process for determining the next steps and that I would hear back within 24-48 hours. She never got back to me.

Although I didn't get the offer, Jasmin from the HR team was very efficient and helpful throughout the whole process. She gave a very strong first impression of Verkada from the go.
The initial recruiter did a great job at selling the interview process and awesomeness of the people I would be speaking with. ...They all seemed to be busy with their minds up prior to the meeting. I understand it is a competitive position but it felt like an audition where the director already made up his mind
basic interview questions - had to drive down to do an interview with multiple people, it essentially took a day, just to not get the job. Felt like we could have done it remote.
