I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Verkada (Salt Lake City, UT) in Apr 2022
Interview
The recruiter interview was alright and easy.
The interview with the Lead Solution Engineer was technical and a joke. You can't teach personality but you can teach the skill. The Lead looks for really in-depth "book" knowledge, wanting you to explain the backend how the process works. I don't think it was really needed, I've worked with customers/vendors and they will explain their infrastructure/needs, as long as the network is working from point A to point B, you can really add any IoT devices to it.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Verkada
Interview
The process from first interview to offer took about a month and a half. They did communicate with me at all times even though there were some delays. Overall the interviews in my opinion were fun and a good challenge. They did also pay for accommodations for the in person interview which was out of town for me.
I applied online. I interviewed at Verkada (San Mateo, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Aced and progressed through 6+ rounds, Additional VP Round at the final onsite. All to be told I didn’t have enough experience for the position. What a joke of a company.

Interview
The interview process was lengthy, but felt structured and gave me the opportunity to get a feel for the company. It balanced both personality, technical skills, and presentation knowledge equally while also giving you the opportunity to ask questions.
