I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Vetcove
Interview
I was invited to do a technical interview for this role, which ultimately I was a bit disappointed with. The interview was scheduled to only be 30 minutes long, which only left me 20 minutes of actual coding time, in which I was asked to build a game of Connect 4 in the coding language of my choice. I tried my best but ultimately was unable to finish building a working game due to the short time allotted. I then did not hear back for an entire week and only got a standard copy-and-paste rejection email after I sent a follow-up. Ultimately I am unsure what kind of candidate this company is looking for as it feels as though the technical interviews are feasibly impossible.
After an initial phone screening, I had to meet with the CTO and build a Connect 4 game in 30 minutes or less. They did not ask at all about any of the skills I'd actually be using in the role. And considering they've been reusing the same interview question for months now, it appears they're just looking for someone who can regurgitate a solution they found online ahead of time

Question 1
Build a game of connect 4 in the language of your choice
Regular phone call with HR person, explained the interview process and honestly we didn't speak about anything that mattered. How they decide who to continue with is a complete mystery to me. 3 days after the HR screen I received a generic email saying they would not proceed. I would definitely recommend preparing an answer to their question...
