I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Via Transportation in Jul 2019
Interview
Very unpleasant interview process. I originally applied for a job as a data scientist and after an "phone screen," which was a 45 minute technical interview, was asked to complete a technical assessment. At this time, I was not told that any change in my candidacy had occurred. Later I found out that I had already been switched to interview for the new role with a different non-data scientist team. I was not told that this had happened or given the opportunity to make an informed decision on whether or not I wanted to continue with the application process given that I was now only being considered for a new role. I had several informal interviews with more staff members and then had an onsite interview. At every step of the process, I had to reach out to find out anything about the state of my candidacy, which made things drag out quite a bit. I was given nothing but positive feedback about my onsite from everyone who interviewed me. After my onsite, I continued emailing with the hiring manager and my would-be boss for over a month, during which time he continued to say that he was excited about things moving forward, and that they just needed a little more time to put an offer together. Then I was told that my offer packet was being reviewed. The very next day I was told I would not be receiving an offer.

Question 1
I was asked to analyze information about cab rides in NY.
pretty fast process in general. first talk to someone on the team to introduce yourself. two rounds of technical interviews. Data challenge. Final onsite for 5 interviews almost back to back
So I only got interviewed one round. That was lucky because it seems like they wasted everyone else time more. They are just trying to seem like they are hiring because they just got IPOed. Don't waste your time talking to them. A very disrespectful company. Seems like their IPO failed as well so I guess it didn't work.
