The interview was a 30 minute phone call. I had a very nice interviewer and answered very typical interview questions. I would recommend to come prepared with at least 3-4 questions as we had about 10 minutes left at the end where the interviewer asked if there was anything else I was curious about.

Application - First Round Virtual - Second Round Virtual - 3-4 In office Interviews - Reference Check Overall, I didn't think the interviews were hard but I am quite confused on the case questions you are asked in interview. The cases are so broad and not very well thought out in general in my opinion. Unlike cases you will see in many consulting/strategy roles in which you are solving an imaginary problem and are given a thought out prompt and data to formulate a recommendation these are most likely past and current business problems they have/had (like others have noted) that they work on for weeks/months at a time but expect you to give a detailed response with no context. These questions in my humble opinion have many routes that are feasible strategies but fail to take an account any analysis/strategy skills you might have and solely focused on what type of bologna you can spew out in 15 minutes. When I was conducting my interviews up until the final round it honestly seemed like they are hoping for you to give one specific nuanced answer and many of my interviewers even acknowledged what I gave was a good response but was looking for "XYZ"? I 100% believe I could have given them their answer if the cases actually were more thought out. I tried to ask follow ups and gain context on the situations but was met with a "What do you think" level response more than I appreciated. My final quip about their interview process is the max base compensation for this role is $85,000 and some (after speaking to some individuals who worked there) are paid less due to experience. Any company with a base pay of $85,000 asking for 6-7 interviews is honestly laughable considering that my previous roles at MBB did 2 rounds of 2 cases and Google S&O was 4 rounds but all paid 6 figure base. All in all I don't want to give to much crap because they have a valiant mission which is why I wanted to change careers and work on something meaningful in my life but if you are coming from what corporate bots say a "prestigious" company, do not waste your time. I really adored their mission which is why I kept through the interview process but honestly if they were just any other tech company I would have removed myself from the process after the first interview.

lengthy and repetitive interview process, answering the same questions. one phone interview, 4 video interviews, and then got flown in for three in person interviews on the same day. got a response about a week later saying "not exactly the right fit." after investing so much time, I would have liked more feedback along the process or more of a discussion following my rejection. extremely frustrating process.
