Like others, I didn't think I would resort to writing a review on Glassdoor, but Via really needs to be held accountable for its interview practices. For starters, the interview is just a guise for specialized market research. During one of my early interviews, the interviewer spent 25 of the 45 minutes asking about the places I worked at within the transportation industry and their key priorities—yet nothing about my experience! This should have been a warning sign. I was so surprised by this line of questioning, that when I asked why he was posing these questions, he flat out told me that Via uses the interviews to bolster their proposals and RFPs. To boot, unlike other companies in the space, Via doesn't require interviewees to sign an NDA, which should have been a warning sign about their true intentions. I also found other aspects of the process unprofessional. It took days for the recruiting coordinator to reply to my email about availability, and one interviewer took a call while doing dishes. (Wish I could make this up.) Lastly, like other posters, when I asked for feedback, I was told that 'all of the applicants have been as impressive as you, so this was a difficult decision.' This response gave me the impression that Via doesn't really have time to invest in their talent pool. All in all, I found the interview process extractive and lacking grace and respect. I wish I had seen these Glassdoor reviews before going ahead with the interview process.
