I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Via Transportation in Feb 2024
Interview
My initial interview was one of the most awkward interviews I've been in.
First, the Via interviewer didn't address their position at the company. Even in emails, there was no position listed under their name. When I went into the interview, I still didn't know if I was talking to a hiring manager or HR.
Second, the Via interviewer came in stone cold and almost robotic. When giving my elevator pitch, the person from Via said "thank you for being vulnerable with me about this". There was nothing vulnerable about what I had to say.
Third, the Via interviewer could not compute when I asked why the position was open now. She was sunned and asked why I would ask that question. I mentioned that tech was going through huge lay offs, and she just mentioned Via had a lot of growth. When I asked if she could elaborate, she mentioned partnerships and couldn't name metrics.
