I interviewed at Via Transportation (Tel Aviv-Yafo)
Interview
Call with recruiter and interview with team lead and a member in the team.
1 hour zoom meeting asking about modeling, dbt and best practices.
Yiu should tell about yourseld and then they tell about the company and the role
Most bizarre experience I had.
I was told that there was a complete re-org in the data department, and sent my CV.
An interview was scheduled shortly after.
Then, the group's manager got to the meeting 20 minutes late, immediately saying "I'm not sure why I scheduled this conversation. I'm looking at your CV and it's irrelevant to the position".
I applied online. I interviewed at Via Transportation
Interview
It wasn't a recruiter who contacted me - someone on the Data Science team reached out directly. The title of the position is "Data Engineer", but the interviewer kept asking data science questions which have nothing to do with database design or ETL pipelines. I have a degree in statistics so was able to answer a lot of them, but I was very confused - not sure if they are hiring someone to help build the data infra or build statistic models. Those are very different job functions.
