15. Unsurprisingly, I had to book and pay for my own taxi to their office. The office looked like an apartment building with absolutely 0 sign that Virtu, or any other company or even people were in the building. When I got there, sleepy, starving, I had to make sure I had the right address and I strolled into a completely empty office. 16. I walked around for 10-20 minutes trying to figure out why I was in this uninhabited building with no one to receive me. Eventually, a guy came down and offered me some cold breakfast and showed me into my interview room and sat me down with a code review on paper. 17. After this, I figured they received the complaint and they said they'd reimburse everything. 18. I met a few people that day. They mostly asked me why I wanted to join the firm and threw in some riddles and technical questions here and there. 19. At lunch, far from how other companies sit you down and have lunch with you and talk to you about the company. This was a bunch of folks just talking amongst each other and me standing there waiting for somebody to include me in their personal conversation, which never happened. 20. At the end of the day, they got me a taxi to the airport (which they still didn't have the courtesy to prepay for). 21. I understand when I've done poorly on an interview, which was not clear to me here. All their HR said next morning was two lines - "we passed on him. It was a unanimous decision." Followed by 3-4 lines in horrible grammar and some gibberish about why my expenses weren't taken care of and a demand for my address so they could reimburse me and get this over with. It was by a long margin the WORST INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE I've ever had.
