I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Virtu Financial (New York, NY) in May 2024
Interview
The first thing is a Python test which is fairly complicated but the expectation isn't that you get everything right. The next is an interview with someone on the team. And then after that someone else on the team. But the process is a little chaotic, the communication isn't great either, folks I was interviewing with had no idea where I was in the process.

Question 1
How do you feel you would be able to handle grind culture?
Very long interview process. Technical assessment and technical round and then onsite super day interview. Very unnecessarily long in my opinion, interviewed with around 6 people onsite, emphasis on long hours. A lot of statistical/probability questions and brain teasers.

Question 1
Describe a time you worked through a team challenge.
I applied online. I interviewed at Virtu Financial in Jun 2026
Interview
Passed the OA, recruiter casual call where she asks about what you know about virtu financial, why you are interested, your past experiences... Got the first technical round next week
So far I had HR call and 5 technical questions online assessment. Questions are easy and HR call is mainly walking through my resume. Not too hard, still waiting for results.
