I recently applied for the Sr Manager, Human Resources position on the company website and received an email from the ATS from an in-house recruiter asking for my availability because they wanted to set up a phone interview. I followed the specific directions in the auto-generated email, which was to contact the recruiter directly. I did this two hours after I received the email but never heard anything more. I followed up a few days later with still no answer. I even contacted a Sr Talent Acquisition Manager at the company who advised me to reach out to the recruiter one more time as he assured me, I would hear something from her shortly. I followed his directions and respectfully reached out to the recruiter one more time. Weeks later and it has been crickets! The talent acquisition team straight up ghosted me. I am hearing more and more stories like mine from applicants and coming from someone with a heavy recruiting background, it is unfortunate that this is how candidates are being treated. This is more of a reflection on the company and the talent acquisition team then candidates. Unfortunately, this has changed my mind about working for this company.
