I was first contacted by someone via email who asked me to write a product description, edit a provided document, and submit one piece of my own writing.
Once I submitted those, the person asked for an interview. I spoke to that person on the phone, it took about 30 minutes. They were very kind and easy to talk to.
About a week later, I was contacted by another person for a second interview. When I responded with my availability, the person did not reply. I had to send a follow-up email 2 days later to ask if they needed anything else.
This person did finally respond and scheduled a time, which was another week later. I then did a video interview with this person (a content manager) and another manager. The interview seemed like it went pretty well, and about a half-hour after the interview I received an email from the same person, asking to schedule a third interview and asking for me to fill out a DISC assessment (essentially a personality quiz). In that email, it was stressed to me that there are no wrong answers to the DISC assessment.
I responded again with my availability for the third interview and my completed DISC assessment, and got not response.
The next day, I received an email stating that after revisiting my writing samples and the answers to my DISC assessment, they have decided to move on with another candidate. This was approximately a three week process, and I feel like I was pulled around from the get-go.
Everyone seemed to be nice, but it is so strange that they requested a third interview, and then decided to deny my application based on my writing samples (which they had access to before they asked for the original interview), and the DISC assessment, which should not have influenced their decision, according to their own words.
