I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Whatnot (Mesa, AZ) in May 2023
Interview
Smooth. One of the best interview processes I have ever undergone for any employer. The interview process was in parts over the course of 2 weeks (I think), and are as follows: I met with the recruiter first for a 20-30 minute phone call to see if I was the right candidate Whatnot is looking for. Then I met (via Zoom) with a Team Lead for the Customer Support department where I was asked various scenario based questions pertaining to the role I was applying for. I was then given a take-home assessment to complete. The assessment revolved around me doing some investigative work to solve some moderate to complex customer issues, adequately responding to them, as well as giving additional information to processes that could be implemented to improve/enhance the experience for the customer. Processes were also conjured up to also prevent or lessen the impact of these scenarios from ever happening again at the degree of severity in which they were brought to our initial attention. I then met (via Zoom) with the Head of Customer Support/Experience where I was also asked questions pertaining to the role making sure that they were in alignment with the principles of the company. The last interview was (via Zoom) with the Senior Manager of Marketplace/Ops (I believe). All of the previous interviews were very conversational and organic. This interview was no different but did feel a little more laid back for some reason. Probably because I went through all the previous trials and this was more of a final informal getting to know you/what are your aspirations/what do you bring to Whatnot type of chat. Overall, It was an awesome experience. I was offered the job once I submitted 3 references (1 former manager, 2 previous peers/colleagues). I can't wait to start! I can see myself growing at Whatnot and contributing to its longterm success. I strongly believe in the potential it has to expand into other social media avenues as well. I highly recommend anyone that hasn't heard of Whatnot to check it out. It's making waves.

There were 5 steps in the recruiting process for me. They made me do an AI interview, phone call, a test and two more interviews,. All these steps were spread on three weeks.

Interview
I recently went through the interview process for a Customer Experience role and honestly it was a great experience. It was structured and detailed, but also very clear at every stage. I always knew what to expect next.
Everyone I spoke with was professional, calm and really knew what they were doing. The conversations felt real and thoughtful, not just standard interview questions. I genuinely felt that the team cares about who they hire.
Big thanks to Hannah for all the support and communication throughout the process, and thank you to everyone I spoke with along the way. I’m really glad I’ll be joining the team and I’m super motivated to get started.

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Whatnot (Phoenix, AZ) in Nov 2025
Interview
I had a first meeting with an internal recruiter who has been at Whatnot for four years. We spoke for 30 minutes and they were very positive about me and my previous experience. I next was sent an only assessment with a test website to respond to 4 tickets. They involved simple tasks to some that included math. Overall it was not challenging, but they didn’t move forward with me after the assessment so I must have not answered how they wanted me to.
