There are more steps to this interview process, especially compared to what I am used to. There were moments I felt overwhelmed due to all of the interviews and additional assignments that needed to be completed, however, I had a full understanding of why all of these steps were necessary (at least this understanding came from personal insight). I had three Zoom interviews with members of different departments, one initial phone interview with the recruiter, and in between I had to fill out a case study (which took some time) as well as submit three references. According to my references, their forms are a bit lengthy as well. Overall, I was very comfortable speaking with every person I interviewed with, as it was more conversational and laced with professional or behavioral questions. The emails I received before each interview were great as well, as they gave me an idea of what to prepare for when I would be speaking with the next person. As I mentioned, while I felt slightly overwhelmed simply by the to-do list during this process, I got the sense that Whatnot is looking for people who will fit in with the culture as well as the demands of the position. Additionally, I got the impression that they want to hire people who will enjoy the company and culture as well, as a new hire's impressions of a position and company can be just as important.
