I had 3 rounds.
The first round was a screening round with the Head of a Stakeholder department to R&D. This went very well and I got a positive response.
The second round was with my future boss (another Head of department) and the HR. I needed to prepare a use case and a presentation. This went well too and I was then sent a positive email asking me to come over to Aalen for a face-to-face interview in a weeks time.
The third round I had on campus (200+ km drive from my city) was with the 2 previously discussed heads of department as well as 3 my future peers (heads of other functions). Surprisingly HR was absent. This was a long interview for almost 100 minutes (originally planned 60 minutes). My impressions was that this round also went well and was also given a positive feedback from the panel members when I asked for a feedback in the end.
After that came the looooong waiting period. lasting almost 3 months without any response. I sent 2 followup emails during this period inquiring about the status and the HR contact told me that they would forward my question to the hiring manager.
Finally I get after an additional couple of weeks a typical machine response of a rejection email.
Painfully slow interview process from start to the end and ghosting in the end of the selection process. There is no formal feedback culture even after asking for feedback there is no response
