I applied online. I interviewed at Zeta Charter Schools (Bronx, NY) in Jan 2021
Interview
This was a group interview to introduce candidates to the Talent Recruitment Specialists and active members of the Zeta Community team. The interview started with us all in a whole group introduction and an explanation as to why we were there. We then went off into individual groups with a representative from Zeta, to be asked further about ourselves and our choice in choosing Zeta. This portion lasted about 20 minutes before entering back into the whole group discussion. There, we were open to engaging in a self-directed Q&A session with the Zeta representatives. The interview closed with all candidates knowing to stay alert for responses.
I interviewed at Zeta Charter Schools (New York, NY)
Interview
From what I remember it was smooth and to the point. They just don't prepare you for what's really ahead and it's a lot. Once you’re actually in it, the expectations, workload, and challenges feel much more intense than what was explained beforehand.
I applied online. I interviewed at Zeta Charter Schools (New York, NY) in Mar 2026
Interview
The first round is AI. You are asked why you would like to work for Zeta, what you would do in a particular classroom scenario, and what teaching means to you. The second interview is zoom. Two people. They ask about your resume and all. I will say I felt like they were already done with me before I got started. They seemed irritated with my answers.

Question 1
They ask why teach in NY? I had to do a small lesson demo, but was limited to 3 minutes. They were big on spending time in feedback, but mentioned my answers needing to be short.
I applied through other source. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Zeta Charter Schools in Aug 2024
Interview
Ai web interview, invite sent less than 24 hours after application. Then a follow-up on Zoom with an HR person a week or so later. No particular connection there, they didn't seem to particularly appreciate my application. Then a few weeks later I got a call out of the blue from the department head asking if I was still interested. Had a second interview with senior leadership of the school, followed by an offer with salary above what I'd asked for a day later. Detailed, thoughtful questions from all concerned. I declined the job because I am fundamentally opposed to charter schools and I didn't want to spend what should be prepped periods, supervising recess and doing other tasks. They are making teachers do to save money on admin staff, but in many respects it's an impressive organization. Excellent facilities.
