There was two parts to the interview. One was a Zoom interview that went on for 45 minutes. My qualifications were very strong. The second was a performance task, which was due in like five days and then they asked for my references. After they asked for my references, they took about five days to tell me that they would not be moving forward with my application. Nonetheless, the whole ordeal is embarrassing. As once you give references you pretty much think you’ve gotten the position and it’s hard to explain to your references that you didn’t get the job. The whole thing just seem like an humiliation ritual as the decision should’ve been made after the performance task and an offer should’ve been extended. then references should’ve been requested. The contingency should’ve been if you acquired your references or not they use Xref which ask several open, ended questions which is really hard for people to do. I would never interview with this company again they’re not straightforward or considerate at all. The company could be data farming or using applicant information to make their school look more enticing, There’s no need to request references if you have no intention of hiring the person.
