My interview process with aPriori was extremely messy and turbulent. They came to me via recruiter with two different jobs. PM & PMM - initially they thought I fit more into the PM role. I had four interviews for the PM role spanning a few weeks - all went well. Ultimately, they said that my experience on the technical side was lacking (something that I made very clear up-front because we do Product Management slightly differently at my company). They decided not to extend me an offer. However, they "really liked me" and wanted to interview again for the PMM role. I agreed because I genuinely liked everyone I talked to and doing some research, I thought it would be a good diagonal career shift. I picked interviewing back up and had another three interviews. After my second, I was given "homework" to answer questions about my marketing experience. I then interviewed again to go over these questions. Again, the interviews went well but they ultimately decided to go with someone with more marketing experience. Four months and interviews for two different jobs (btw - I originally wanted to go with the PMM and they thought I'd be a better fit for PM). After not extending me an offer for the second time, I pretty much got ghosted. Two weeks after my third interview - I got a text message from the recruiter saying they hired for the PMM spot - but "have some openings coming up that they would like me to consider!". What I found troubling throughout both processes is that they would not disclose compensation. Their benefits were also not very strong with a low-ball 401k match. It's a shame, because the people seem great. The hiring process was very bad for me and I hope they fix it.
