Interview
On the phone they mentioned they wanted to interview me for a different position than the one I applied for, but didn't provide much detail on what the position was. As a result it was very difficult to know what to expect or how to prepare.
My first interview was with the Assoc. Director of Talent Acquisition. It was an easy interview going over my background and the like. We talked a bit about the role as it was a new position they were creating. She didn't seem to know what they wanted but she liked me and asked me back for Interview #2.
Interview #2 happened 5 days later and was with 2 Directors in the Marketing department. I asked for an official job description before the interview this time and was told they didn't have one, nor did they have a salary range, or an experience level expectation...you get the picture.
They weren't very friendly but the interview was pretty much the same as the first interview. I had to provide writing samples. From this interview I determined that they basically wanted another employee who would do basically everything including deciding some strategy but would not have any kind of authority. Multiple questions into the corporate structure determined that the only direct report is the CEO - a very weird structure. Minor employees and associates should not have to go to the CEO for everything, it's just inefficient in a company this size.
I realized I was overqualified for the position they were trying to create and vocalized this. I was notified via email that they were "going in another direction."
I felt my time and gas money was wasted because they could not be upfront about the position requirements. It's unprofessional and lazy for the talent department not to have a job description before searching to fill the role. I also got several red flags about the company culture and work/life balance.
I really wouldn't recommend this company unless you are desperate to get your foot in the door somewhere and able to sign over your life for a year or two building your experience.
first was a phone interview with hr which was good and brief. face to face with hr which was also good. then panel face to face with the heads of the client relations team. this is when it got weird. the panel interview was like a firing squad interview. felt very cold and unwelcoming.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at alliantgroup, LP (Houston, TX) in Dec 2016
Interview
1st Interview: Phone interview with head of talent acquisition; was formal and generic. Set up 2nd round in person interview with same person as phone. Felt promising.
2nd Interview: In person with same as above which went over the same questions, but asked about compensation and salary requirements (loser speaks first and she tried very hard to get me to speak first) Felt even more promising. Set up last interview with heads of the department "to see who's team I'd be placed on."
3rd: Was a 3 person panel interview with heads over the client relations associate role "to figure out who's team I would be on" This interview was where it got weird. Before they walked into the door, I heard them all discussing "you should ask her this, OH I'm going to ask her this, You should say it like this" all outside the door with one's hand on the handle! All which felt very immature and disorganized; also I heard every question they were about to ask me lol. Once entered it felt very judgmental or they just had RBF's.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at alliantgroup, LP (Houston, TX) in Dec 2016
Interview
Very easy phone and one on one interview; panel interview was very awkward, unprofessional, I felt they were unprepared in interviewing me. They were on and off of their phones, one girl even excused herself.
