Slightly strange process numerous tasks that were based on UI skills above anything else, not related to the role, which led me to think that they want to hire a UI designer not a strategic product innovator.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at n8n.io in Aug 2024
Interview
I applied for the above-mentioned role, received a calendar invite, but the earliest was in 2 days' time. The expectation was to try the product in advance, which I was unable to do as I was in the midst of meetings and relocation. Regardless, I tried the product AFTER the initial interview and supplied feedback (n.b. the product was defective enough that I liaised with their technical support).
I got rejected afterwards for the following reasons:
1) Cos I did not try the product in advance - it didn't help that I tried the product after the interview and supplied feedback. I'd expect basic empathy.
2) Bragging that they already had a favorite candidate right from the start, and that my feedback was nothing special (even alas their defective product, which hindered my assessment).
Conclusion: My impression is that these people lack utmost appreciation and they are all about favouritism.
