Hi! Working with people who have special needs has always been my passion. I discovered the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA) while working with children on the autism spectrum, and I was immediately drawn to its scientific foundation and data-driven approach. In 2012, after practicing ABA therapy in New York for over a decade, I moved to Ohio and noticed that there was limited access to and knowledge about ABA therapy in the Northeast Ohio area. Many clients were also starting therapy later in life, which inspired me to open Building Blocks Therapy in 2013 with my husband, Oshie.
Our goal was to bring the valuable benefits of ABA therapy to the region and help people get started with therapy earlier. Our clients typically receive more than 20 hours per week of therapy when they first start and maintain that level of intensity until they are ready to transition to being independent or to another environment, such as school or community settings. Over the years, we have grown to four centers, conveniently located in Akron, Ohio; Avon, Ohio; Highland Heights, Ohio; and Solon, Ohio, and we have added many programs, including Day Programs that focus on early intervention and group learning opportunities, and Branch, which focuses on life skills and social skills groups. Our clinics serve Summit County, Portage County, Wayne County, Geauga County, Cuyahoga County, Lake County, Medina County, Lorain County, and Stark County.
It is incredible to witness the effectiveness of ABA therapy in action every day, and I am thrilled to continue to make a positive impact on our clients and their families. I am beyond grateful to work with the most compassionate, caring individuals each and every day at BBT!
