The third largest private behavioral health provider in the U.S., Pine Rest offers a full continuum of behavioral health and addiction services. Our comprehensive behavioral health center located in Grand Rapids, Michigan offers psychiatric urgent care, inpatient, partial hospitalization, residential, addiction treatment, and specialty services such as crisis response, employee assistance programs, community outreach and more. Our Pediatric Center for Behavioral Health is planned to open in Spring 2026. Our outpatient network includes 20 clinics and telehealth in Michigan, psychiatry, individual therapy and group therapy for people of all ages and all levels of need. Specialty clinics offer assessment and testing, addiction recovery, forensic psychiatry & psychology and brain stimulation therapies, partial hospitalization, residential SUD services or psychiatric urgent care. Pine Rest is a mental health education hub in Michigan with educational programming for medical learners at levels from undergraduate through psychiatric residencies and fellowships in partnership with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Professional and continuing education programs are available for medical, social workers, psychologists, and human resources. Since 1970, Pine Rest’s CPE program has served over 1,000 seminarians, pastors, chaplains, and parish nurses. An associate member of the National Network of Depression Centers, Pine Rest partners with the biotechnology community, industry and academia-based research programs on research dedicated to advancing the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders. The Guidance Center

For more than six decades our agency has maintained a collaborative relationship with its local communities and schools to support adults and children experiencing mental health difficulties and other challenges. A group of concerned residents and educators recognized the need for mental health services in our area and joined forces in 1958 to help form The Guidance Center. Since then we have worked as a team to respond to the needs of children, adults and families in southeast Michigan.   The agency operates a wide range of programs and services at 18 locations. Our expertise in mental health and wellness, early childhood education, intellectual & developmental disabilities services and support, mentoring, substance-use disorders, Kids-TALK Children’s Advocacy Center, Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), Nurture the Future, and research and evaluation helps more than 16,000 children and adults annually work on their own personal triumphs in life.   In October 2021, The Guidance Center was selected by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) to participate in its five-year Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) demonstration pilot. TGC is one of only thirteen community mental health agencies in the state of Michigan selected for this pilot. The rigorous certification process verified TGC as meeting all 125 of the national standards required of CCBHC service providers by the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
