Description The name Milwaukee means "the good land" (as Alice Cooper knew), and Journal Sentinel tries to bring the city's citizens good journalism. The subsidiary of Journal Communications operates Milwaukee's primary newspaper, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, which was born in 1995 through the merger of two local papers with roots in the nineteenth century. Boasting a circulation of about 185,000, the paper offers local and regional news coverage, along with special features and events coverage. Journal Sentinel also operates the JS Online news Web site, which features blogs, videos, and a subscription service providing coverage of the Green Bay Packers football team.
