Pros
Employees/co-workers are, for the most part, dedicated and team-oriented to their own internal teams. Most middle managers and directors are working managers.
Cons
Teams/departments were very silo'd. Many, many good people have left, especially over the last year. In particular, the culture is challenged. Employees are overworked, under-paid, and under-appreciated by management. It's an incredibly top-down management style, with a lot of "mandates" coming from above and no consideration to how it will effect hourly or middle management workers. This includes drastic cuts to team sizes with no plan in place to handle the workload. An employee survey was done in summer 2013 with horrible results (everywhere except newsroom). Results weren't released to employees until spring 2014, with zero follow-up done in the year following. Great example of how to completely demoralize your employees.
