Serving the people of Acadiana in southern Louisiana, Lafayette General Medical Center provides general inpatient medical and surgical care, as well as highly specialized services such as trauma care and neonatal intensive care. The not-for-profit hospital, which has about 300 beds, also offers home health services, outpatient care, occupational medicine, and mental health care. Lafayette General is a member of group purchasing organization Premier and has affiliations with two small community hospitals -- St. Martin Hospital in St. Martin Parish and Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital in Vermilion Parish -- to which it provides management services.
