Patch My PC started in 2011 as a weekend project when our founder, Justin Chalfant, built a free Home Updater to fix a problem at work. That side project ended up helping millions of people stay secure and inspired us to keep building. In 2013, we launched our first enterprise product to make third-party patching easier in Microsoft ConfigMgr, and from there Patch My PC began to grow into a real company.
By 2017, Justin and Marie Chalfant had both left their day jobs to go all in on Patch My PC. We launched the Publisher in 2018, added support for Intune, hit 1,000 customers, and built our first team in Castle Rock, Colorado. In 2021, our team codified the core values that still guide us today as we scaled to more than 3,000 customers and millions of devices secured.
In 2022, we acquired Scappman in Belgium, opening the door for our cloud journey and expanding into Europe. In early 2023, we added Apajove in the UK, bringing new reporting capabilities, and later that year we became stewards of PSADT after welcoming its founder to our team. By the end of 2023, we had grown to more than 95 team members and over 6,000 customers worldwide.
2024 was a milestone year as we launched Patch My PC Cloud, removing on-prem requirements and unlocking features like Custom Apps and early Mac support. Customer excitement was incredible, and we finished the year with 7,835 customers, 24 million devices, and a 125-person global team. In early 2025, we grew our leadership team in Finance, Operations, and People Ops and brought nearly 100 teammates from 13 countries together in Costa Rica for our third global summit.
Today, Patch My PC serves more than 7,800 customers across the globe, ranging from small organizations to some of the largest enterprises. Our purpose is improving lives by creating products that help our customers stay more secure and improve their quality of life. We are proud of our bootstrapped journey, our commitment to staying true to our values, and our vision of reaching 85 million devices secured by 2033.
