Founded in 1938, Wings’ membership has grown to include anyone who lives or works in 36 Minnesota and Wisconsin counties including the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro area; the metropolitan areas of Atlanta, GA; Detroit, MI; Orlando, FL; Seattle, WA; Madison, WI and the aviation industry nationwide.

In 2022, Wings was named one of the top ten credit unions nationally by Gobankingrates.com and in 2023 was named a Star Tribune top workplace in Minnesota for the 11th consecutive year.
