Pros

The people. 1-800 Contacts is the best employer I've had for walking the walk when it comes to living up to the (elsewhere) sometimes empty promise of "we love our people." They show it more than they say it. Flexibility. The world has become a funny and sometimes challenging place over the past couple of years. I love that 1-800 Contacts has adapted and become incredibly flexible in figuring out what works best for employees. The campus. Onsite gym, outdoor rec opportunities (complete with volleyball tourney, basketball court, pickleball...) onsite restaurant (don't even think about calling it a cafeteria!), outdoor grill with patio seating, onsite optical shop... all the tools we need to do our jobs on hand... the facilities are second to none.

Cons

I'll come back and edit/add to my review if/when i find one/any.

Pros

Growth opportunity is there and encouraged. They run a lot of programs and internships in every department so you can move around and try new things and find your niche! The idealism, vision and support the company has is wonderful but not quite how it used to be when in office. I hope they are finding a way to make it better again.

Cons

"nepotism" or favoritism does exist in the middle line of management. So growth is limited at times. Finding a way to keep people on the front lines is a struggle in the year 2022.

Thank you for your review, and for being with us these past few years! Associate development and career growth opportunities are important to us. We are constantly re-evaluating how we can embody our culture and values in both physical and remote work environments. If you haven't already, we invite you to reach out to your manager, business partner, or any member of the People Department to share these feelings and see if there are ways we can help make things better for you and your channel. Thanks again for sharing your feedback.

Pros

Get to be an agent and customer expert. Support for Agents. Help agents find the best decisions to help the customers. give them advice on options they have to solve problems and find resolutions that make both company and customers happy. Opportunities for development. The company cares about your development and constantly encourages you to learn more about the company, offering internships for other departments (such as quality, sales, compliance (RX) etc. In addition to work development they encourage, other forms of development and even pay tuition up to a certain amount after working for the company for, I believe a year. The Paid time off system is pretty fair compared to most other jobs.

Cons

Ace position kind of takes over the slack from other departments. I do feel like for the pay they take advantage of the ACE associates. (having them take sales calls, and taking away sales from sales agents when its super busy, when hiring more sales agents would be a better option so they can get commission for the sales---ACE agents expected to take those calls without any additional income (when those same hours are offered to sales agents at $5 more an hour + sales commission earned. But ACE doesn't get those perks) Supervisor calls, once in awhile you get a non-so pleasant one . No commission, they used to have it for this position but it was taken away.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! We're so glad to hear you feel supported within your channel with your career and development goals. And good news, our tuition reimbursement benefit is available to associates who have been employed with us for six months prior to the class start date (so no need to wait a full year). We recognize that every position can have its challenges, and we appreciate your transparency in sharing some of the pain points you have experienced in your role. Our mission as an organization is to pave a better way and the best way to do that is by bringing solutions to the problems you are facing in your role. If you haven't already, we encourage you to reach out to your manager, the senior manager of your channel, business partner, or any member of the People Department to discuss and share these feelings. We will be sure to pass along this feedback to senior leadership within the Customer Department so that we can all learn, grow, and improve together.
