Pros

Free cereal, soda, and bread/ rolls. And, of course, BAGEL SATURDAY. Lots of opportunity for growth as an agent, and the ability to move to different departments if the phones aren't for you. Ability to work from home. Very attainable bonus requirements.

Cons

Must work weekends for at least the first year (usually longer). HIPAA compliant, so phone use and internet access is strict on the call center floor.

Pros

1-800 Contacts is a company that has earned my respect with the way it treats it's customers, and empowering employees to make customers happy, and deliver quality service. They are committed to their employees, and interested in their development. In IT, the Senior leadership shows real commitment to the product they deliver, and a real interest in their people and helping them further their careers. Great people to work with, and work for! By far the best company I have ever worked for in my career, and I am so glad I am here!

Cons

The main con for employees here, is that advancing in any mid-size company, in an industry that is not having explosive growth; puts a limit on how far good employees can advance. Honestly, the people here do not want to leave, and that has created a backlog of advancement for people who are deserving of promotions. Basically, people love it here, and you may wait a longer time to get to management positions. So quick advancement is limited here.

Fun perks but it gets old

Pros

Awesome perks and fun company events. I love the people and the culture is fantastic.

Cons

I've been here for over 3 years and I'm growing tired of the pay. It's not very competitive. People will stay for years because of the perks but to me the low pay is starting to take a toll.

We do seek to remain market competitive on pay and regularly perform analyses to determine whether or not an adjustment is needed. We have increased pay grades several times over the years and will continue to watch this closely to ensure we are fair and equitable with our pay practices. We recognize the potential of our internal talent and are introducing several development opportunities this year, from self-guided trainings to manager and leadership development. We recently partnered with Bridge to allow for continued education both laterally and vertically throughout the organization and are excited to continue building a culture where our associates can progress in their careers.
