Pros

1-800 CONTACTS knows service. They do an excellent job taking care of their customers and their associates, and will almost never sacrifice the customer experience for financial gain. There are many other perks to working here that are a side effect of their passion for taking care of their employees, such as the onsite gym with free personal trainers, the restaurant that serves free breakfast daily & offers subsidized meals, and the unlimited beverages and snacks. The company provides different sports outlets, film festivals, and an annual summer event for the whole family. The people are the greatest, and I have made many friends here that will continue to be a part of my life for years to come.

Cons

Comparatively, 1-800 CONTACTS doesn't pay as much. Whether you are looking at entry level, management, or beyond, you can expect to make less than the market average for your position. Because the company is well-established, upward mobility becomes very difficult & it doesn't take long to feel you have reached the end of your career path with nowhere else to go. As a result of these two things, many people who are worth keeping around move on to other companies and 1-800 has a difficult time keeping up.

Pros

I love the work environment here! The management is great because they are very supportive of all their employees. They really put a lot of work into making each employee excel and whatever they wish. My co-workers are great because everyone works with a positive attitude and as a team. Lots of fun perks that show that as a company they really care about their employees to be happy.

Cons

The pay is just ok, I could get paid more somewhere else. The benefits are only ok. Sometimes the food in the Grille is awesome and other times its just ok.

Pros

Discounted meals are good and there are always free drinks and snacks. Onsite gym is good.

Cons

Training is way too short and you will not really know what you are doing to start. You are expected to work at a very fast rate. Bonus structure is terrible and it is very hard to qualify. You are constantly being audited and marked down for the most subjective nonsense. Turnover is terrible which should tell you that the compensation is not good enough for how miserable the job is. Look at the patterns and you will see that this companies ratings are always going down and that should tell you something
