the benefits of a free gym, and the cafe are really good, and cheap contacts

Cons

The company says it treats employees differently and care about customer experience, but they only care about sales. You are held to unrealistic standards for sales, and forced to lie to customers by sneaking in solution. Also the bonus structure that they promote is a lie, I have been there for a year and have yet to bonus, you have to get a perfect quality(which they can dock you for being to happy or whatever they feel like), a huge rpc which is impossible cuz they count prank calls and service calls which are huge against you. Also I have tried to get into several different departments, while my friend in training who was related to someone that was high up had no qualifications and worse score than me got the job when there wasn't even an opening!!

We believe that it is beneficial for a company to occasionally (and briefly) respond to a Glassdoor post which might represent an organization or a department. We are pleased to report that 60% of the associates in this department bonus monthly, and in August 2015 only 7% of our associates were below minimal statistical expectations. This would illustrate that our standards are achievable and that bonuses do pay! Also, the relationship we have with our customers is vital and we would never coach an associate to do anything that might harm or compromise that relationship.

Pros

1-800-Contacts goes above and beyond to try and please it's employees. They frequently gave away gift cards and awards for outstanding performance, They encourage employees to be fit and will re-imburse them up to 20 dollars a month for gym memberships, They have an excellent cafeteria and the food is amazing - plus you can earn points for ordering a healthy entre. They frequently have team building activities and will order pizzas, breakfast burritos, etc. just because they can. Heck, Even the bathrooms are top notch where they stalls have no gaps on the doors and they play relaxing tunes such as the Narnia soundtrack or The Piano Guys.

Cons

The management would probably take this as a compliment but.... Did you ever have a friend growing up who felt they had to keep giving you stuff and telling you nice things so you would like them? That was what it felt like working at 1-800-Contacts. It was a bit overkill really... Also at center where I worked it seemed like, despite the team building activities, the environment was still a bit clique-ish. The guys who like to play the video games stick together, The people who work in the call center usually only talk to call center people... Everyone would split up into little groups and I would usually end up eating alone... I had one experience where a fellow new hire asked a member of management if he had sent him a facebook friend request because he was not sure who the person was and the manager confirmed it. Funny, No one ever sent me any Facebook friend requests..... Huh.

Pros

Great service to it's customers and employees. You get free food on the weekends, and it's really easy to get work off.

Cons

Although there is a lot of room for one to move from a call center representative to a manager, it is difficult to move into the career positions.
