Pros

I love working at 1800 Contacts. Not only do you have an onsite gym with amazing personal trainers, great food for almost nothing, multiple events every year, and discounts on just about everything, you also have an amazing culture. The people here are like my family. I look forward comong to work everyday because of the people and culture I am surrounded by. Great company to work for.

Cons

Really not that much. One downfall of such a family like culture is the lack of sometimes holding people accountable. I think there could probably be a little more accountability in different departments.

Pros

Everyone I work with are incredible, and the environment in general is really plesant. Every day is usually fun because of the people I get to talk to. Flexible scheduling. Great work-life balance. Excellent tuition reimbursement program.

Cons

Poor pay, management takes advantage of hard workers, no communication from upper management. Lower employees are often left in the dark on changes. You have to be in their "Boys Club" to move up, or just be a favorite.

We keep a sharp eye on equitable pay and regularly adjust our pay grades to align well with market rates. There is tremendous value in paying our associates what they are worth, and we will continue to be fair with compensation. Communicating to our associates is a top priority in making our business successful. Our senior leadership team has recently begun holding town hall meetings regularly to provide better communication to associates at all levels within the organization. Associates are encouraged to ask questions and the CEO provides essential updates on the business. Networking throughout the organization is an important component of success, and our People Department and managers work diligently to promote top performers. We pay for performance and promote based on merit.

Pros

Relaxed hours. Great work-life balance. Cafeteria onsite. Cheap meals Fun environment. Great place to learn for a junior developer

Cons

Management demands the impossible with impossible deadlines. Slowly removes benefits over time. Treats the IT department with the same standards of Call Center. Does not pay competitively. Easy for a developer to become stagnant and stay that way. This results in a lot of dead weight. Technical decisions are made by managers and marketing teams. Third party applications are preferred over in-house solutions. Silos between IT departments

This is great feedback. We are always trying to improve our workplace environment and take care of our employees. One of our core values is “Live for the Impossible” so we frequently attempt to accomplish the impossible, and have aggressive deadlines. However, as mentioned in the pros, this does not mean we sacrifice work-life balance. Another one of our values is “We Champion People”. Our goal is to provide an environment where we each of us is constantly improving both our technical skills and leadership skills. We strive to provide opportunities for our employees to grow and develop their career.
