Pros

Work from home, equipment provided, great, supportive team.

Cons

Often super busy, to the point where you cannot go to the bathroom or take a break for hours, as you are glued to your desk. Also, you are on video (that’s recorded for legal purposes) for the entire day, interacting with patients (they see you and you see them), so you’ve always got to look presentable. Lastly, all metrics are constantly monitored—how many minutes/seconds you spent previewing a chart, getting the patients history, actually performing the refraction, documenting, etc. There’s a constant pressure to improve your numbers and get in and get out of each virtual exam room. This was most challenging to get used to, especially if you’ve worked in ophthalmic clinics before—no time for any small talk, patient interaction, etc. Each interaction felt rushed, which didn’t make me feel good as a care provider.

Pros

Getting to meet different people in many different places. Some of the management is wonderful and are very engaging with staff members.

Cons

Management. Micromanagement. Leaderships inability to implement change where needed when coming from an outside source. Unfavorable statements made toward employees by management often in public. Employees are overworked and are constantly being scrutinized. There is systemic disorganization and chaos on a daily basis thought out the company. Rules apply to some and not all which is where favoritism is clear and present.
