Pros

The people are wonderful, and they legitimately care about creating quality games, and they don't mind taking creative risks.

Cons

Career advancement path is unclear. Can have stellar annual reviews and still not be considered for promotion. They will hire from outside the company instead most of the time in my experience. Prone to layoffs post project. Low pay compared to other places. Periods of crunch can be lengthy depending on the project.

Pros

Sometimes there are free food trucks and sometimes the coffee machine works.

Cons

Management is out of touch with the real world. Pay puts contract workers at the poverty line in San Francisco with no benefits. Contract hiring is criminally executed; terminating contracts right before benefits set in, then re-hiring 2 months later when state and federal employment status resets. No new, exciting IPs in the pipeline. Just relying on micro-transactions in NBA 2K to keep the lights on. Extremely cliquey environment. Mass firings are common and many employees are constantly looking for a better place to be, with people leaving on an almost weekly basis.

Decent salary, nice location, willing to spend money on projects in the beginning

Cons

Upper studio management is awful - seems to accept their role in screwing things up but still cleans house when their ideas backfire while still managing to keep their jobs.
