Pros

There are some good and smart people working there. Generally relaxed environment. Comparable bonuses and stock grants to other game companies based on level.

Cons

Management centres on a cult of personality. Knowledge of games and the gaming space is not where it should be. Too much money and effort is spent bringing bad products to market. Consistently chasing the Image of Rockstar Games with a major lack of creative leadership. From the logo to some of the game choices, ego often gets in the way of good decision making. Top down management stifles a lot of creativity. "Cool Kids" club dominates the culture. If one isn't part of that group, the will stagnate. President will have parties during a work day but only invite select individuals.

Pros

Nice environment in the suburbs of north bay area. People are polite for the most part. "Nice-looking" titles to have for your portfolio. They pay 150% for overtime, yay! (if you're okay with having your soul sucked out)

Cons

No challenge in the artistic avenue, they're just recycling the same game every year and slapping a new sticker on the box. Just tons of the same tweaks over and over, you'll really feel like you go to crank a lever everyday. You won't really improve and will feel like back to square-one once you leave. I recommend do personal work on the side, no matter how much you may not want to after 40hrs a week at this factory. The pay is good if you came from working a day-job at the mall. Just don't compare your salary to other large game companies if you want to stay in blissful ignorance. (but then again, you're not doing much real talent work) Lots of bottle necking due to poor management. Like most companies, gossip flows like herpes, stay the hell away from the peanut gallery is my advice.

Double-standard central.

Pros

Good location, some nice perks. Lots of talent on development teams. Some interesting licenses to work on.

Cons

If you end up working on a team with dubious management, and you're unlucky enough to ship a project that doesn't sell well, they will sooner axe the entire team than get rid of the problem individuals.
