Pros

The Store Manager training program is very informative. The company pays for all your expenses when attending one of their training campuses (hotel, gas, mileage, food) as well as your regular salary! 7-Eleven employees and management are very personable.

Cons

The training program can be extreme. The trainer spends a day teaching you how to clean a toilet and mop a floor like you've never done it before. They're are lots of different levels of management and someone from each level is likely to tell you a different way to do the same thing.

Pros

Its really a huge chain, so you can move pretty much anywhere and have a job. Competitive pay for what it is.

Cons

50 plus hours salaried most weeks...Tough to move up, if they like you they are going to do their best to keep you where you are.

Pros

Mundane work that is easy to do. Never any difficult or strenuous tasks. Time off whenever you need it. The managers are nice in my location. Free soda, coffee, and slurpees. If you can mop, make coffee, and run an ancient cash register, you can do this job. It's very very very easy.

Cons

I work morning shift, so the store is pretty much dead every day until around noon. When there are no customers it is extremely boring. We have a checklist of tasks each shift must do, and once that's done you're just standing around, watching the clock. Being on your feet for 8 hours straight with no designated breaks on a shift, but you can smoke any time it's not busy. If you want to eat during your 8 hour shift, you either have to order or eat the crappy food sold in the store at full price. Tons of drama between employees. Dealing with extremely rude and disrespectful customers. No one really knows how to do everything, and the regular employees are left to train new employees so we're all getting second hand information. Don't be surprised to come in and see your hours cut.
