Pros

Weekly pay with benefits. No cost for purchasing a lunch or drinks while at work should you work elsewhere. There is a 7-eleven on almost every corner so therefore, you can obtain a job close to home...(in my case within walking distance), with no out of pocket costs to eat or drink every day. All in all I have found that the previous sales job I had making $2.00 more per hour plus commission actually turned out to be making less money with travel time, gas, lunch purchases and drinks for day. Very busy which helps the time to pass with lots of great conversation and interesting customers to make the day fly!

Cons

Lots of standing in one spot at register during busy hours. This can be very hard on the back for someone whom has back problems such as I. I do keep plenty of advil on me. You are in a very fast paced enviroment and must be able to multitask effectively in order to accomplish all of your job requirements while keeping customers happy and being speedy gonzalezzzzzzz!. Well worth it though and the time flies by.

Pros

They allow flex time working shifts to co-workers at the corp office level. Some structured training is provided but hard to come by.

Cons

The general atmosphere of management has been CYOA. Benefits have been greatly reduced and the costs have risen. There seems very little accountability of middle management types as long as the correct rearends are kissed.

Pros

Exciting retail business that is changing fast. Very hands on atmosphere with a relatively flat management structure that allows many opportunities to impact real world operations. Field staff have great latitude to schedule their time and dedicate resources to the store issues they find most important. Wonderful opportunities to learn basic management skills: if you can teach a bunch of minimum wage workers to keep a store running 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, you can probably manage just about anything.

Cons

Senior management often drags feet with bureaucracy. Can be very frustrating. Culture discourages creative thinking and the result is that the stores are stuck in the past and losing ground to more progressive competition.
