Pros

Not much. Mandatory OT gives you some more money in your pocket I guess. If your a guy you have to be clean shaven. Have to buy all the uniforms for the job out of pocket. Cannot wear your own jacket/hat/sweatshirt to work, has to be an 84 Lumber uniform and it is really expensive to buy them.

Cons

Extremely long hours. Sales goals are kind of unreachable. Not too much support in learning how things work in the industry. Management and outside sales only care about their own money while not doing any of the leg work to get it done (only focusing on the sale and not checking the product, loading it, etc.) Very labor intensive.

A Company That Values Employees

Pros

- Company values employees. Paid time off. Sick time. Will do anything in their power to help their employees with personal issues as well. - Compensation is determined by how you work, not who you know. You follow the program, you will succeed, and you will be compensated very well. - Hires Veterans. - Although a large company, with many stores, you actually get to know those in corporate headquarters, as well as many of the other employees. The corporate office is their as an extension to the stores, and they go above and beyond to help you achieve your goals (as a store and as well as an employee). - Advancement opportunities. The company is always hiring, always promoting. Personally started at the lowest rung on ladder (Part Time Yard Person), have been promoted to Contractor Sales, Outside Sales Co-Manager, Co-Manager, now Manager. One of the few companies that states they "hire within" and actually do it. - Honestly strives for you to be successful. From the RVP, to DVP, to Area Manager... all put you in a position to not only succeed but to further your career within 84 Lumber. - Company offers training, courses, skills, tests in order to help employees to achieve goals.

Cons

- I don't think there are cons. You work hard, you get rewarded for it. You get exactly what you put into this job. You give 100%, you will truly get 100% back. You put in 50%, well, you know what you'll get.

Pros

Flexibility of scheduling. Work environment. Insurance is a good provider. Profit sharing again. Networking with vendors and builders provides greater growth opportunities.

Cons

Work environment. Hours worked. Overtime is mandatory. If short staffed you will work all the time. Slow season when it gets cold, building slows down and your pay check will suffer due to smaller/no bonuses.
