Pros

Pay is decent once you get out of entry level positions, unless your store of having a bad year. Health benefits are great compared to other companies in the industry. Best training program in business hands down.

Cons

Very political. They are way understaffed, so expect to go 100mph from 6:45-at least 6, probably later in the summer. Entry level pay is horrible. The promotions are very political. Most of the time, you will be required to move (sometimes out of state) for a promotion. Other than the health insurance, the benefits are horrible. No milage reimbursement unless you are a salesman, even though as a manager or co-manager you will do a bunch. Promotions take a lot longer usually than they tell you in interviews. They are generally 20 years behind the times. You are expected to toe the company line 100% of the time, disagree at your own risk. They keep a lot of people through fear. They have a lot of employees convinced that 84 is the only good lumber company out there that isn't about to close its doors. Upper management is to prideful to admit they were wrong, so certain areas in the company will keep struggling with the same things.

Pros

You can make as much money as you want depending on what position you are in. The pay can be very lucrative if you put in the effort. I like working for a privately owned company that is transparent with the financials and it feels like we work for our family instead of a corporation.

Cons

Longs hours would be the biggest, but as long as you stay busy, the day goes by fast.

Pros

They do offer lots of training and knowledge if you are new to the industry.

Cons

Long hours. Low pay. Corporate personnel are a joke and lazy at best. Overworked and underpaid.
