Too many to mention. But mostly that your experience here will depend almost entirely on who your boss is. If your boss is threatened, steals your ideas and presents them as his/her/their own, particularly to senior execs or in some cases to board members you won’t have much hope for advancement here or for an experience that feels like anything other than that you’re trying to pull the knife out of your back on a daily basis. My boss was notoriously prickly. I managed to avoid her ire for the first 2 years of the 4 I spent at A+E. I was told stories of her throwing packages at people and how she had suddenly appeared out of nowhere 4 years prior and folks at the organization questioned her ability to do the “consulting” work she was hired to do - including not understanding the data or being able to use it in a way to forecast new market opportunities. Turns out her husband and the head of our particular division were “good friends” and he and the nightmare I had as a boss had attended the division head’s Hamptons wedding. My prediction? In 5-10 years time the channnels (History, A+E & Lifetime) will no longer exist/be linear channels but rather become brands that produce their content only for streaming services.
