Pros

If you’re looking to get into the automotive industry, there simply isn’t anywhere better to work. AAMCO has the best reputation in the area and is well known for hiring only the best of the best. They pay a premium for the most qualified candidates and have no qualms letting go of employees who don’t meet their standards. Every aspect of the process is vetted and even though you get into this line of work for the passion, you know you’re also in good hands because the company has your back.

Cons

Hours have been irregular the past year due to COVID and trying to do work masked and social distanced isn’t the easiest.

I plan on retiring from AAMCO

Pros

Working in sales at AAMCO is a completely different beast than any of the other positions, and you feel it. A business can’t run without sales, and even businesses that are more straightforward like car repair are no different. It’s less exciting in a lot of ways than working sales in other industries would be, but it’s much more solid and dependable. It may not be everyone’s dream job, but I actually really enjoy it and I could see myself doing exactly this until retirement. I’m happy here and I like what I’m paid. They increase my pay after every review and they’re good about doing reviews on time. If there’s an issue, I go into my boss’s office and talk to him about it man to man. That’s it, and then it’s taken care of. I constantly hear my nephews and nieces complaining about things going on in the offices they work at and how they can’t say anything or they’ll be fired. I couldn’t work in that kind of environment and I can’t imagine how anyone does. I like what I like and I know what I want. I’m sticking with AAMCO for the long-run.

Cons

If I have an issue, I bring it up with my boss. I don’t go behind his back and talk about the problem on the internet to a bunch of anonymous strangers.

Pros

Pay, relationships with customers, always more to learn

Cons

I rated my experience a 5 because of the owner I worked with, after over ten years I dealt with many, many owners I wouldn't ever want to work with under any circumstances. If you're going to work for a franchise get to know them, get a feel for their character & their business philosophy because it makes all the difference. Other cons are typical for the industry, long hours at times, and typical for a small business, not much in the way of benefits.
